Finding a southwestern rug on our road trip is priority. They are going to be hot this year. Navajo is the new ikat. which was the new chevron. which I'm pretty sure was the new black.

I loveee this living room. Admittedly though, it's a little girly. Which was just fine until I realized I am going to be living with a boy - eek. Not gonna fly with my manly man. So, I am trying to think about what to delete and switch out to make it unisex.

I think the zebra can be switch to a less glam, but still punchy,  graphic print. No lucite (esp since I have more chairs than I know what to do with). Different art.

kitchen idea

I could be wrong but it seems to me that a lot of the kitchens in NYC apartments have these kind of half-galley kitchens (counter only on one wall instead of both). This leaves an awkward amount of space that isnt enough room for a table to sit at, but also too large to just leave empty. If we end up with such kitchen, this is my inspiration:
